ABSTRACT

During COVID-19 attack, there are change in the teaching and learning process from onsite to online. It is the challenge for the lecturers in Bina Nusantara to instill value education through Pancasila Education, Civic Education, and Religion Education to instill Value Education. In this situation the purpose of this study is to observe the extent of students' understanding of Pancasila Education, Civic Education and Religion Education on Value Education for the students during Covid-19 pandemic. This research used a quantitative method carried out by distributing questionnaires to 150 respondents as simple random sampling. The collected data were processed using SPSS 22, then completing it using path analysis. This research showed that Pancasila Education and Religion Education in Covid-19 pandemic significantly affect on Value Education. But there is no significant effect of Civic Education on the Value Education. The implication is that Pancasila Education and Religion Education should be delivered more intensively and seriously to instill value education more over Civic Education, so that the students as the young generation are not only having Pancasila, Civic, and Religion understanding but also can live up to the values which are used as core values by Bina Nusantara University. © 2023 EDP Sciences. ABSTRACT

When all nations including Indonesia are hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are compelled to conduct research with the purpose is to see students' understanding of Civic Education towards Value Education of the Students. The method of this research used the quantitative method by distributing questionnaires to 150 respondents as simple random sampling and then data was processed by the SPSS 22 program and completed by using path analysis. The results showed that Civic Education has no significant influence, which is indicated by the significance value in the ANOVA table and the coefficient table of 0.164 which means it is bigger than the 0.05 probability. The result showed that Civic education has no significant influence on the Value Education of the students. The implication is that Civic Education should be delivered more intensively and seriously so that instilling values to the students as the young generation through Civic Education is more effective. By that, the students are not only having an understanding of Civic Education but also get to implement the values even though statistically there is no significant effect. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In the midst of efforts to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 attack, values education has challenges as the impact of COVID-19. The change in the teaching and learning process from onsite to online is a challenge for teachers of value education courses. In this situation the purpose of this study is to observe the extent of students’ understanding of Pancasila Education towards Value Education, especially, SPIRIT Values of the Students. The method used a quantitative research method which is carried out by distributing questionnaires to 150 respondents as simple random sampling and the data was processed by the SPSS 22 program, then completed by using path analysis. The results showed that Pancasila Education has a significant influence, which is indicated by the significance value in the anova table and the coefficient table of 0.000 which means it is smaller than the 0.05 probability. The result of the study found that Pancasila education had a significant influence on the Value Education of the students. It is recommend that Pancasila Education should be delivered more intensively and seriously so that instilling values, especially SPIRIT values to the students as the young generation through Pancasila Education is more effective. So that the students are not only having an understanding of Pancasila but can also implement the SPIRIT values as proclaimed by Binus University as the core values. Although learning has undergone a change in pattern from onsite to onsite due to the ongoing pandemic, with various obstacles faced, students still have to maintain values such as SPIRIT, namely Perseverance, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, and Team-Work. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

ABSTRACT

When all nations including Indonesia are hit by COVID-19 pandemic in era digital, we are compelled to conduct research with the main purpose, namely how much the contribution or influence of Pancasila Education and Civic Education on Value Education for students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The data was obtained by asking the students who were respondents to fill out a questionnaire. 150 students who have attended Pancasila and Citizenship courses were chosen by random sampling. Then the data obtained from the responses of the respondents were processed by the SPSS 22 program, and analyzed by path analysis. From the data processing and path analysis, the results of the research are obtained which prove that Pancasila Education has a significant contribution or influence on Value Education. Civic Education has no significant contribution or influence on Value Education. Based on these findings from this research, it is necessary to increase more intensive and serious efforts in delivering Pancasila Education, especially Civic Education in order to increase the contribution of both education to value education for the students, so that the students as the younger generation do not only have an understanding about Pancasila Education and Civic, but also be able to live the values, especially SPIRIT (Striving for the excellence, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Team Work) which are the core values at Bina Nusantara University. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

It must be admitted that with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, conventional face-to-face learning has been disrupted. Luckily, we have to thank to advances in science and technology, so that the learning system does not have to stop, but can continue even though by online learning, either through zoom meeting or google meet or other online media. In such a context, this research was conducted with the main objective of finding out whether compulsory curriculum subjects, especially Pancasila Education and Religion Education, can still have a significant influence on character building through Value Education? Therefore, this simple research used quantitative methods by distributing questionnaires to 150 students as simple random sampling. From the data obtained, it was found the result that Pancasila Education and Religion Education still have a significant influence on Value Education which at Bina Nusantara University the values is focused to the value of SPIRIT (Striving for the excellent, Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, Innovation, and Teamwork). So, it can be concluded that the COVID-19 condition must not slacken the spirit to shape the character of students through Pancasila Education and Religion Education, so that core values of Bina Nusantara University remain embedded in students. © 2022 ACM.
